The Clifton MTB Club (Mountain Bike) has the aim of exposing children to the outdoor by means of a mountain bike…
Living in the area that we do, it is a shame to keep the children riding their bikes on the fields and around school, which is in itself quite ‘boring’.
There are amazing opportunities, relatively close by, to expose the children to ‘single track’ and the junior race scene.
Safety is at the heart of the club, and regular attendees will be taught the basics of fixing and maintaining their bicycles in good working order, how to attack steep descents and climbs – how to take the correct line into a ‘rock garden’ etc. Hopefully, with some crazed enthusiasm, we can get some children racing too!
Clifton has, as all race communities have, adopted a strict “NO HELMET, NO RIDE” policy and this will be firmly enforced.
Remember, there are two types of cyclists in the world: “Those who have fallen, and those who will…”
It is due to the very nature of this sport that parents will be required to give written (either by e-mail, fax or hand-to hand) consent for their child to be a member of this particular society.
